What a Day…
Today is not going to be fun. Here’s a glimpse at my schedule for the day:
4:30 AM: Get home from working at UPS. Check e-mail. Write this post and then attempt to get at least 3 hours of sleep.
8:00 AM: Wake up (approx. 7:30), wake up wife, shower and dress. Go to apartment manager’s office to discuss the last-minute notification of work being done in our apartment. Find out exactly where said work is being done so furniture can be moved before 9:00. Go back to apartment and move said furniture.
9:00 AM: Let cable guys in the apartment to install the second cable outlet and digital service the management is apparently having done in every apartment in the complex. Put Reese’s Cup (our dog) in either her crate or in the kitchen so as to stay out of cable guys’ way.
11:00 AM: Go to hospital for 32-week baby appointment. At this point we are apparently supposed to have a dr. appointment every week until the birth.
Afternoon: Go home, release prisoner…er…dog from kitchen, take dog outside. Run to U-Haul or somewhere like that and get packing boxes. Go home and start packing books for relocation to church office. Hopefully cable guys are gone by now and furniture can be put back into place. Go to Wal-Mart or Target and find a “white elephant” gift (max $10) as well as a couple of 2-liters for tonight’s Christmas party at UPS. Wrap said gift. If possible, take a nap.
4:00 PM: Stop whatever we are doing and cook dinner. Eat said dinner. Get ready for work.
6:00 PM: Go to work at UPS. We are having an early night tonight in order to train one last group of people in one day.
9:00 PM: Finish training. Training department Christmas party.
10:00 PM – 12:00 AM: Go home at any time during party. Arrive home. Check e-mail. Put on pajamas and pass out on bed next to wife and sleeping chihuahua. Do not get up until some time Saturday, preferably in time to go see the Trinity-St. Xavier state championship football game.
Yeah, today is not gonna be fun.
